Today is the fourth day of school and I finally let Austin walk without me. He walks with three other boys in our ward. The oldest is in sixth grade and the other two are in first with him. He has wanted to walk by himself since the first day, today I finally gave in. He is so independent now! He wants to do everything on his own. School starts in three minutes and I just keep thinking I hope he's there. He had to give me a hug and kiss before I let him leave and he told me I could meet him at the cross-walk after school today if I wanted to. Tomorrow though, he wants to walk to and from school with just his friends. I know, that with him walking, it will make things easier for me. But I am a mom, and it's hard to let go. Alex starts school on Thursday. He is so excited for preschool. I really think he's just excited to finally be able to go downstairs at Krissi's. It's so fun to watch them learn new things but at the same time, I just want them to stay little.
So as many of you know, I am a huge fan of the Twilight saga. I can't wait for new moon to come out this November. I think Jacob looks much better with short hair. ENJOY!!
I can't believe that school has started again. I feel like we just started summer!! We have had a very busy and exciting week. Last Friday we got to go over to the school and find out who Austin's teacher was. Her name is miss Southard. Then on Wednesday it was back to school night and we got to meet her. She had a little scavenger hunt for the kids so they could get familiar with the classroom. Alex kept trying to follow Austin around, it was so cute. Austin kept telling him that this wasn't his school, he had to go to Krissi's. It's so weird to have him gone all day long. I keep looking at the clock. Yesterday he gave me a card he made in class that made me a little teary-eyed. The front the card has his hand cut out on yellow construction paper with a chocolate kiss "in the palm of his hand". The inside was a little poem. "Whenever you feel lonely and need a little love from me, just press your hand to your cheek and think Austin loves me and this very kiss will jump to your face and fill you with toasty warm thoughts." -The Kissing Hand by Audrey Wood So after his first day of school, he had his first soccer game. He had so much fun and his team did really, really well. Austin even got to play goalie for part of the game. Austin loves school, his teacher, playing soccer, and is coach (daddy). It was a pretty good first couple of days of school. Alex starts preschool next week with Krissi. I can't believe that two days a week I will only have Keira in the morning. What am I going to do with myself?
Tuesday I went to Jami's house and she took pics of Keira. I have to say I had too much fun playing dress up and accessorizing. Jami is amazing and I can't believe how well everything turned out. We were there for a few hours and the boys did really well while we were taking pictures. Once again this isn't the finished pics, I just couldn't wait to get them posted.
Last week we had family pictures taken by Jami. The boys had a lot of fun, but were a little difficult when it came to getting a good picture. With the entire family there though, there was a lot going on. Each family took individual pictures, then the grandchildren had pictures together, and then we had the entire family together. We had a lot of fun, but I think we all came to the consensus that we will not be doing that for a few more years. Here is just a few. The finished product will come later.
Summer started and the great outdoors (and many other things) have been calling. Our progress on the basement has been really slow. We've started mudding and taping, and hopefully we'll be done soon. It isn't that hard, it just takes a long time. Travis' parents have come out a few nights and helped us out. Trav's dad is great at mudding. Oh and as you can see there is finally proof that I work in the basement. I made Trav go get the camera so I could finally be in a picture. Until next time. . . .
Last weekend was a busy one. Friday night Travis and I had a soccer coach meeting. Saturday morning we had a baby shower for Teresa, my cousins wife. After the shower I had enough time to pick up Travis and run home and change. My brother, Kevin was going through the temple for the first time. After going through the temple we had dinner at my mom's house. Like I said, a very busy weekend. On Sunday we blessed Keira Michelle Gray. Thank you to all the family and friends who were there to support us. After the blessing we all headed to my in-laws for lunch. We decided to BBQ good ol' hamburgers and hotdogs. Jared manned the grill for us, and everyone complimented him on his great burgers. It was fun to sit in the shade of the big trees and chat with everyone. Keira looked beautiful in her white dress wrapped in the blanket that my great grandma made. I have been saving this blanket for a little girl for years. And of course with my family around we couldn't end the day without taking a hundred pictures :).
Travis and I have been married almost 7 years. Our two boys Austin (6) and Alex (3) keep us very busy. Travis works for Rocky Mountain Enterprises and I work for Macy's. We love camping, fishing, golfing, and hanging out with the fam. That's what WE love to do together. I love buying shoes and handbags, scrapbooking, and reading. We (Travis really is excited he just won't tell people that) are very excited for our little girl to get here. I can not wait to have pink in my house and buy little girl things. It will be fantastic!!!
